Scary Animals (or not!)

Dear Students and Parents,

Over the next six weeks, students will be working on a persuasive paper project about a scary animal of their choice.   For the first two weeks prior to the project, students will be given several lessons on individual components of the research/writing process.

Project weeks 1 & 2 will focus on research.  After students research their chosen animal, they will decide whether or not their animal is scary and write a report to support their opinion.  Project weeks 3 & 4 will focus on writing.

There should be enough time in class for students to complete their daily assignments (approximately 45 minutes for each lesson).  Daily work not completed in class will need to be completed at home.  I have posted the daily schedule for weeks 1 through 4 on this website to help students keep on track and manage their time accordingly.

If, for some reason, students miss a day of class during these six weeks, the daily assignment will need to be completed at home.  Out of respect for all students, time in class will not be spent on the previous day's assignments.  The schedule for this project is very rigorous and will require everyone's cooperation and support.

Please feel free to contact me any time with questions.

Thank You,

Mrs. Trimble
